Carrera Sunglasses Carrera Sunglasses were originally launched in 1956 and the name of the brand was derived from the Carrera Panamericana a famous road race from 1950 to 1955 which started in the south west of Mexico and ended near Texas, USA. Carrera initially specialised in sunglasses for fast paced sports such as motor racing, skiing and cycling. Today Carrera still specialise in sports sunglasses but it is their modern and vintage sunglass ranges that have made them so popular.
